Actor, Poet, & Better Bard Founder
Mikhail "Misha" Beggs
Misha is a queer poet, actor, and stage technician from the Bay Area. His poetry has appeared in Frozen Sea, Eunoia Review, The Basilisk Tree, and Chinchilla Lit among others. He was nominated by Frozen Sea for the Best of the Net awards-based anthology for his poem "Confession to a Kitchen Calcination." Misha's poetry centers on linguistic identity, contrasting his Russian speech with English.​

In addition to writing, Misha is passionate about making theater linguistically accessible to ESL students: he was elected as the California State Thespian Officer Communications Chair in the Educational Theatre Association, overseeing digital organization, advocating for linguistic access, and teaching workshops on theater leadership across the state; and founded Better Bard, an educational organization dedicated to making Shakespeare accessible to ESL students by exploring the intersection of theater education and neuroscience.
